For the last weeks I tried to make the perfect vegan pizza and tested a lot of plant based cheese options. All of them failed. So … finally I had to come to the conclusion, that I cannot emulate the cheesy part of a pizza and this is going to be a tomato pie instead. It´s a lousy pizza, but a great tomato pie.

By the way, it´s not pepper. The black particles are ground black seeds. Nigella sativa is the botanical name, to be more precise. If you are interested in recreating it, these are the ingredients for the glutenfree vegan dough.

The tomato pie is topped with two tomatoes thinly sliced, one spoon of olive oil
and black seeds freshly ground in a pepper mill and a pinch of salt.
