Crushed – that´s important. The seeds have to be crushed and broken up to provide the nutrients and healthy oil. You could use bottled flax oil to amp up your omega-3 fatty acid intake, but seeds are a more affordable option and they last longer in your pantry. The combination of healthy and cheap seems like a good choice to me. And you can sprinkle flax seeds on everything, for example on avocado without toast.
